Hearing the Heartbeat of Kauri & Sons
We’re passionate about a lot of things at Kauri & Sons. We believe in the power of beautiful design. We love crafting high-quality clothing that combines soft-on-skin with a long-lasting durability. We’re proud to be a New Zealand-run business and delight in the beauty of Aotearoa and our environment.
But if we were pushed to ask our number one priority – it’s not hard.
We’re all about people.
We reckon the popular whakatauki (saying) captures this in a way nothing else can.
He aha te mea nui o te ao. He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata
What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.
So when it comes to the way Kauri & Sons treats people – ethics is close to our wee hearts. It is critical that everyone involved in crafting our clothing is treated fairly and paid well for their effort – from our cotton farming partners in India, through to our team in New Zealand.
Because we believe people matter. We believe people have a deep significance to their lives – and we believe the way we treat people (especially those who the world tends to ignore!) speaks bucket loads about what’s really important to us.
So we’re committed to paying fair wages to all people involved in our supply chain. We’re buzzed knowing that Kauri & Sons helps create jobs for people in the Developing World – and the little bit of good we’re working on here in New Zealand is causing small-but-meaningful ripples around the globe.
You get to contribute along with us – as part of our profits go into supporting Tearfund’s Protect – a powerful movement seeking to eradicate the deep-rooted evil of slavery in the modern world.
Although we’re just getting going – as Kauri & Sons was born in March 2019! – we’ve got big heart-dreams about how we can be an impact and influence for global good.
So join us – let’s get ethical together! – and seek a future that puts people at the heart of life.
